Padre Island National Seashore
Padre Island National Seashore nesting season begins in April! Visitors can view amazing hatchling releases of endangered Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtles of Padre Island
Check with the park for hatchling release info and schedule – the baby turtles hatch when they are ready – nature will take its course!

April 1st
South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center Big Bloom & Eco-Fun Dollar Day is a day filled with butterfly releases, reptile shows, butterfly releases, nature trail walk-and-talks and birding scopes in addition to the center’s usual array of activities, all for just a buck! There’s a mega plant sale, too, with Master Gardeners on hand to answer questions (bring containers if you plan to shop).

April 1st & 2nd
The enchanting story of Snow White is performed by the Corpus Christi Ballet. There are just two performances, so order your tickets early!

April 8th
The Second Annual Corpus Christi Food Truck Festival will host an awesome 50 food trucks. They will be serving up the best dishes and food creations for all to enjoy. There will also be live music at the Freedom Truck Stage, Arts & Crafts Alley, Food Eating Contests and plenty of kid activities @ Kids Truck Zone. The food truck festivities begin at 12:00 noon and wrap up around 12:00 midnight. The whole event is free and open to the public; all you need to pay for is the great food!

April 15th
Celebrate Eggstravaganza at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History! Spring in to science with exciting Eggperiments, cool crafts, and science shows. Hop from station to station to collect eggs and prizes on the day before Easter!

April 20th – 23rd
The Birdiest Festival in North America spans four days at the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center! The registration fee includes six seminars/special talks, vendor tent, arts/crafts booths, “Raptor Project” shows, Botanical Gardens admission, plus an opening reception Mexican fajita dinner on Thursday, April 20. Tickets are available for 15 optional field trips Thursday to Saturday, and a barbecue dinner Saturday evening. Food trucks will be on-site for other meals. Come hungry!

April 21st
In the fourth biennial exhibition shown at the Art Museum of South Texas, contributing artists, members of the Art Department faculty at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, will display unique perspectives in painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, graphics and design. Don’t miss this feast for the eyes!

April 22nd
Pops in the Park is an incredible symphony concert experience! It all starts with preconcert fun for the entire family – a VIP party on the private suites level, live entertainment on the concourse, ballpark concessions and activities for the kids. The Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra performs pops and light classical favorites to a synchronized Harbor Bridge light show. Then, fireworks!

Rodeo Corpus Christi has added concerts for 2017! Each two-hour rodeo performance will be followed by a one-hour concert with a different artist each night: Dwight Yoakam, Aaron Watson, William Clark Green and Siggno.

Visit the USS Lexington, a World War II vintage aircraft carrier, open seven days a week, in Corpus Christi Bay. There is so much to see and do here, including a display of 20 different aircraft, a flight simulator and the 3D Mega Theater. Choose one or more of five self-guided tours (with volunteers available to answer questions), each with a different focus.
