Fourth of July Boat Parade 

Water, water everywhere, so naturally festivities start with a Fourth of July Boat Parade that cruises through the main canal on North Padre before the fireworks show. Have a boat? You’re welcome to join in.

Fireworks on North Padre Island 

Fireworks on North Padre Island will launch from Padre Island Yacht Club after sunset. Get your “oohs” and “ahs” ready!

Big Bang Corpus Christi 

Big Bang Corpus Christi has a busy schedule of food trucks, games, vendors, parade, fun run, music and fireworks all weekend, from Friday through Tuesday the 4^th. Check the schedule to see what’s happening when – more activities may be added!

Port Aransas Fourth of July 

Or, you might want to take in the Port Aransas Fourth of July festival. Warm up for the holiday July 1 – 2 at the 48^th annual Rockport Arts Festival with over 120 artists, live music and local food. On the 4^th, the whole family can enjoy Slip N’ Slide tournaments, boat parades and beach activities. Then at dark, the big fireworks display begins. You can see the fireworks from just about anywhere in Port A, but one of the best viewing spots is Roberts Point Park and its great views of the shipping channel.

Sea Turtle Hatchling Releases 

Sea Turtle Hatchling Releases happen throughout July at Padre Island National Seashore. This is an amazing bit of natural wonder that few get to witness. Check with the park for times and procedures.

Mandela Day Corpus Christi 

On July 22, enjoy a multicultural celebration of food, music, fun and art at Mandela Day Corpus Christi at Heritage Park Plaza. And there is a poster contest for young artists ages 6 to 18. Deadline July 18. Prizes!

Beauty and the Beast 

Beauty and the Beast at the Harbor Playhouse is family-friendly live musical theater the whole family will enjoy. The show runs through July 16.

Corpus Christi Comic Con 2017

Corpus Christi Comic Con 2017 is July 22-23 at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. Celebrate Corpus Christi’s premier pop culture event with your favorite movie, TV, comics, video games and cosplay guests!

Music under the Stars 

For music under the stars, bring lawn chairs or blankets to the Cole Park Amphitheater every Thursday in July from 7:30 – 10:00 pm. The Bay Jammin’ Concert Series features a different live band each week! Free!

Bay Jammin’ Cinema Series 

Movie buffs will love the Bay Jammin’ Cinema Series Fridays at dusk at the Cole Park Amphitheater. Bring blankets or lawn chairs and a picnic basket to share with friends and family. Free!

Kids Nature CSI 

Need to keep your 8 – 13-year-old busy for a couple of hours? They’ll learn investigative techniques in Kids Nature CSI at the South Texas Botanical Gardens. July 22, 10:00am – noon.

Youth Nature + Photography Camp 

Also at South Texas Botanical Gardens, the Youth Nature + Photography Camp July 10-14 for ages 14-18 has the theme, “Wildlife in Focus”.

Kids Basic Birding Camp

Nature Story Time

Younger kids (with an adult) ages 2 – 6 will enjoy Nature Story Time at the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve on the 1st & 3rd Saturday and 2nd & 4th Thursday at 3:30pm. Free!

Who’s ready for the spotlight? Young People’s Theatre Camp at Harbor Playhouse has four week-long sessions in July, each with a different theme. Kids ages 6 – 14 can experience Bright Lights On Broadway, Heroes and Villains, Christmas in July or Animal Kingdom. 9:00 am – 4:30 pm with before and after care available.

Who Art You?

Who Art You? is a drawing, painting and creative expression art camp that asks, “How many different ways can you draw or paint an image of yourself?” The Art Museum of South Texas has portraits from the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery on display for inspiration. July 17 – 21, 9:00am – 3:30pm with before and after care available. Ages 5 (with kindergarten completed) – 12. Kids will explore several mediums through movement and music.
